Who Big is
Being Big is much more than a nickname. It's a lifestyle
Being Big has no gender or race. It's a State of Being.
Being Big doesn't require pronouns.
Being Big is a mindset that proves you're the best at what you do.
Being Big has it's weaknesses.
Being Big means accepting you're not perfect.
So, what does Being Big mean to you?
Big is a musician and composer who knows how to keep things real-With a strange fixation on basslines and for jazz music. Big is proof that music and personality goes hand in hand with each other. With every note placed with soul (sometimes not, not gonna lie), with the intent of breaking your heart (musically of course). Blurring between the lines of genres, Big refuses to be put in a box, Inspired by late-night conversations, quiet moments, and the chaos of life. Big creates experiences that are as personal as they are universal.
Not only as a solo pianist and trumpet player, Big is also the leader of a jazz combo called The Collective. The band was formed by pianist and primary arranger Sean Smith-Fauver in 2022, with the name coming from the most unexpected place, a high school band director. What started out as a small 9 person combo, became a Collective of sorts with as many as 20 people on call in regular rotation with all of them maintaining schedules as sidemen in other groups. The Collective isn't exactly a jazz band, and definitely not a jam band. But a group that plays all types of music that's pleasing on the ear to listen to.
Another title Big holds is a composer. Composing original music for upcoming indie video games and other media, is a personal passion for Big. With experience in both production of multiple genres and composition, there is a sizable arsenal of genres and style available upon request. Including but not limited to; HipHop, Rnb, Ambient, Disco, Samba, and Jazz. With multiple Big Band arrangements at hand along with any obtainable through a request, Big is planning for a debut album by the end of 2025 with genres including straight ahead jazz, ballads, samba, and a Frank Sinatra style Big Band chart.
Look forward towards any and all future music!
